Paschal Memorial Funeral Home of 181 North Church Street, Jeffersonville, GA announces funeral services for Mr. Steveson "Sam" Clarke, age 62, of Twiggs County, who was called into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 8202 Highway 96, Jeffersonville, GA at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Our beloved Sam was born Steveson Clarke on June 28,1963, in Twiggs County, Georgia to the late Gladys King and Allen Stephens. Raised along the quiet country roads of Cary Straight, Sam grew up surrounded by the love of family and friends. He was the fifth of six children and attended Twiggs County Schools.
After graduating high school, Sam pursued his passion for heavy machinery, beginning his career as a skidder operator with a local logging company. Driven and hardworking, he later launched his own business, Clarks and Son, establishing himself as a respected entrepreneur in his community.
Sam was adored by all who knew him. He was a kind, patient, and loving man, known for his unwavering devotion to his family and friends. His warm, infectious smile could brighten the darkest days, and his gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his son Janerio "Jaye" Brown, and his older brother Ronnie Clark.
Sam leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in his children: Yasheka Smith, Sawaya Smith, Stevenson Clark, and Shaun (Latresa) Dennis. He was a proud Poppy to Aniayah, Karma, Alayah, Justin, Daisy, and “grandpup,” Fudge. He is also survived by his siblings: Eddie Clark Sr, Gracie Booker, Bobby Clark, Joyce (John) Robinson, LaShunda Stephens, Marketia (Terry) Hollings, a sister-in-law, Carolyn Clark, a special friend in Lynette Wilmore; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Though he may no longer walk beside us, Sam’s love will forever live within us.
Public viewing will be held Friday in the A.B. Thorpe Memorial Chapel of Paschal Memorial Funeral Home from 1pm - 6pm.
