Paschal Memorial Funeral Home of 181 North Church Street, Jeffersonville, GA  announces funeral services for Mr. Silas Williams, Jr., age 91, of Dry Branch, GA, who was called into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at D.D. Memorial Baptist Church, 12041 GA Hwy. 129, Dry Branch, GA at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the New Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, 289 New Bullard Road, Dry Branch, GA.

Silas "Buck" Williams, Jr., son of the late Silas Williams, Sr. and Clifford Williams of Twiggs County, GA, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Gertrude Williams, to whom he was married for over 59 years. Silas was also preceded in death by his son, Adrian Brown, Sr., and three of his siblings—Ida Bell Faulk, Laura Harris, and Charlie Williams, Sr.

As the eldest child after the passing of his father, Silas developed a strong work ethic and embraced his family responsibilities at an early age, which he carried throughout his life. Silas worked for JM Huber as a miner for 35 years, He remained active in his retirement, at home and by assisting elders in the community-taking them to doctor appointments and cutting their grass. He joined New Hope Baptist Church in his youth and gave his life to Christ. He later joined the New Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he continued his ministry as a member of the usher board.

He was a quiet man with a strong presence in his family and community. He showed you how much he cared rather than telling you. Though he was never one for many words, when Silas spoke, his children listened-because his words carried weight and wisdom. His quiet strength and presence created a foundation of security that his children carried with them throughout their lives.

He enjoyed fishing with his friends, despite never learning to swim, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. At family gatherings, Silas was famous for his homemade lemonade, which became a refreshing tradition.

He is survived by his three sons and one daughter: Rogerick Williams Sr. (Myra), Chad Williams, Eddie Lee Williams, and Cassandra Solomon (Patrick).

Silas' memories will also be cherished by his sister, Annie Farrar (Alton), 25 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Silas will be tremendously missed, but his calm spirit and ability to not stress over things he had no control over will hopefully be a goal for us all.

Public viewing will be held Monday in the A.B. Thorpe Memorial Chapel of Paschal Memorial Funeral Home from 1pm - 6pm.
