Paschal Memorial Funeral Home of 181 North Church Street, Jeffersonville, GA  announces funeral services for Mr. Roy Lee Scott, age 73, of Irwinton, GA, who was called into eternal rest on Friday, July 4, 2025. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at New Bethel Baptist Church, 12700 GA Hwy 57, Irwinton, GA at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

With a life well-lived, Roy Lee Scott, beloved father, New Bethel Baptist Church grandfather, brother, and friend, transitioned on July 4, 2025. He was born September 25, 1951, to the parentage of the late Roman Scott and Elouise Prosser Scott.

Roy was a graduate of Wilkinson County High School, class of 1971, and after graduation was employed by BASF, formerly known as Engelhard, for 45 years.

Roy was very well known in the community. He accepted Christ and Savior and joined New Bethel Baptist Church. He was the “handy man” for most, if not all, and always was the life of the party. T-Roy, is what he was known as, loved watching his wrestling every Monday and Friday night and being around family and friends. T-Roy back in his day, loved playing baseball and was one of the original Tigers #7 who held down first base and could throw a mean strike down the line when needed.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Hughes Scott.

Roy leaves behind to cherish his memories, his children, Terence (Melanie) Scott and Toi Scott. He was a proud grandfather to Ty Scott, Devin Scott, Amani Scott, and Keontae Whipple. Roy is also survived by his siblings, Betty (Rico) Myrick, Teresa Coats, Bill (Geraldine) Scott, Johnny (Cynthia) Scott, and Raymond Scott; his in-laws, who became true brothers and sisters in his life’s journey, included brothers-in-law, Bernard (Lolita) Hughes, Edward (Willie Pearl) Jones and sisters-in-law, Delois Wiggins and Izola Williams; devoted nephew, Bernardis (DeMeesha) Hughes; a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins; and devoted friends, Brian Mathews and Charles Moses.

Public viewing will be held Tuesday in the A.B. Thorpe Memorial Chapel of Paschal Memorial Funeral Home from 1pm - 6pm.
