James Edward "Bert" Clay, Jr.

Paschal Memorial Funeral Home of 181 North Church Street, Jeffersonville, GA  announces funeral services for Mr. James Edward Clay, Jr., affectionately known as Bert, age 49, of Macon, GA, and also a native of Jeffersonville, who was called into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Beyond The Walls Baptist Church, 243 East Railroad Street, Jeffersonville, GA at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

James “Bert” Clay was born May 21, 1976, to the parentage of the late James Clay, Sr. and Annie Ruth Clay. Bert was called home on August 5, 2025.

Bert was preceded in death by his sons, Kentaveon Elvine and James Clay, III; father, James Clay, Sr.; grandmother, Lucille Williams, Gloria James and Sheryl Atwater; sister, Theresa Burns, and father-in-law; Andrew Stephens.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of seven years, Shenita Clay; children, Jamarkez Anderson, Jamir Anderson, Javeon Pegram, Ja’Maya Pegram, Cambria Elvine, TeAzhane Muff, Jamyrkal Tharpe, and Jameson Clay; grandchildren, Caiden Elvine, Braylon Elvine, Ashton Elvine, and Kennovia Elvine; brother and sisters, Garry (Joyce) Burns, Melissa Burns, Vanessa Rouse, Andreya Clay, and Renita Clay; aunts, Cora Bell Burns, Deloris (Scott) Jones, Leatha Blackshear, and Beatrice Taylor; uncles, Fredrick (Ashoni) James and James Burns; great aunt, Mrs. Ruby Bonner; mother-in- law, Carolyn Anderson; two sisters-in-law, Angelica Anderson and Jasmine Anderson; six brothers-in-law, Jarquarvious (Bud) Anderson, Justin (Pocket) Anderson, Laroche Stephens, Tereco Stephens, Andrew (Alexis) Stephens, and Nicholas Arnett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will be held Friday in the A.B. Thorpe Memorial Chapel of Paschal Memorial Funeral Home from 1pm - 6pm.
