Paschal Memorial Funeral Home of 181 North Church Street, Jeffersonville, GA announces funeral services for Mr. DeVelvis Washington, Sr., affectionately known as DJ, age 39, of Dry Branch, GA, who was called into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, 9010 GA Hwy 129, Dry Branch, GA at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Emery Green/ Washington Cemetery, 909 Hill Brown Road, Jeffersonville, GA.
DeVelvis J. Washington (DJ) was born on October 23, 1985, to the parentage of Mr. Hampson and Lou A. Washington, Sr.
During his earlier years, DJ joined the Greater New Hope Baptist Church. DJ was formerly employed with Georgia Power for many years. He was currently a head operator with Washington Construction until his health declined. DJ was also a member of the 2003 graduating class of Twiggs County High School. DeVelvis was a charismatic and loving individual who enjoyed playing tricks on his siblings and friends. He had a passion for tractors, cars, and traveling to various destinations. Most of all, DJ cherished and loved family time, especially during the holiday season.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, DeVelvis J. Washington, Jr.; devoted parents, Mr. Hampson and Lou Washington; two brothers, Deacon Keith (Shunita) Washington and Hampson "Lee" (Keisha) Washington, Jr.; a devoted sister, Rosheba Washington; one stepson, Jamari Hughes; aunts and uncles; Tommie (Rosa Mae) Washington, Turner (Fannie) Washington, James (Carolyn) Washington, Leonard (Janice) Washington, Alonzo (Sarehi) Washington, Booker T. (Pearlie Mae) Washington, Ethel Bell, Jaycee (Rosetta) Thomas, William Wimberly, Carrie Mae Washington, Sarah Washington, Patricia Washington, Lillie P. Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Public viewing will be held Sunday in the A.B. Thorpe Memorial Chapel of Paschal Memorial Funeral Home from 1pm - 6pm.
